Real Estate Market news, conditions, opinions
Is now a good time for buyers to reach into their pockets for that new home purchase?

SnailStill on the slow down turn....realtor's phones are slowly starting to ring again with buyers and slowly more action of showings on their listings, I am hearing from others by word of mouth.  Myself as well, I am beginning to recieve the odd phone call for showings on my listings.  As the market went on a huge downturn (a correction), buyers were holding onto their money and more and more listings were accumulating on the market, by Septemeber 30th, we were at almost 10, 000 listings where we would normally be at 2400 for a normal cycle to happen.

Well, now it is becoming more and more appealing to buyers as the prices have come down and there is lots to choose from.  There is much speculation that we are nearing the end of this correction and we are very much in a buyer's market now and we will be seeing more action soon as buyers will take advantage of this opportunity.

For buyers who bought when prices were still high...no worries, the market in general is expected to climb over the next several years.  Like any market you see, it can't keep going steadily up and at that speedy rate we have seen.

Canadian homebuyers can save money by using term life insurance instead of bank mortgage insurance. Term life insurance premiums are non-taxable; term life also has the benefit of the homebuyer naming the beneficiary. For ongoing coverage, buy a policy that converts into whole life insurance once the term has expired; many will not require further medical information.
